Main Parts Computer

The first question you might have is: How do secondary market vendors obtain their computer accessories and parts? It depends on the vendor, of course.

Typically, a used computer vendor has partnerships with large businesses and organizations that are likely to turn over their computer equipment on a regular basis. By entering into partnerships with these organizations – which include large companies, government departments and leasing agents – they assure themselves access to a wide range of high-quality computer equipment. Because the equipment in larger organizations is upgraded more often than in the average business, the surplus equipment tends to be in very good shape, and of a fairly recent vintage, making it ideal for reselling.

Some used computer vendors have partnerships with actual computer manufacturers which gives them access to the manufacturer’s discontinued parts. If you are looking for computer accessories from a specific manufacturer, you may want to check with them to see if they have a reselling partner.

The next question you might have is about the quality of the used parts and how much “spin” is put on the condition of the part by the vendor. Reputable used computer dealers carry out thorough tests on the parts they stock. They will often grade them so that customers can immediately determine the quality of an item.
